Enter the Cardiac Ward, Fat Dragon

Colin just tweeted about this and I figured it was worth a blog post.

Earlier in the month, Sammo Hung felt unwell while working on IP MAN 2 and was admitted to a hospital for heart surgery. The surgery was a success and Sammo's since returned to work. His weight however remains a serious health issue which he'll hopefully get straight to work on getting under control since he's only 57.

Now let's enjoy a clip of Sammo doing his best Bruce Lee impression in ENTER THE FAT DRAGON:

Say, "I Love Killing Butterflies!"

Here is a snap I scanned from an old HK movie mag I found - a shot of Tsui Hark and cast and crew from 1979's The Butterfly Murders, Hark's debut. Always wanted to see his swordplay TV series that got him this gig.

Back row, from left to right (the dudes): action director Wong Shu-Tong; actor Tino Wong Cheung; director Tsui Hark; producer Ng See Yuen; actor Lau Siu-Ming; actor Chang Kuo-Chu.

Front row, from left to right (the ladies): actress Ha Kwong-Li; actress JoJo Chan Kei-Kei; actress Michelle Yim; actor Tsui Siu-Ling.

Michel Gondry has found his Kato

When Michel Gondry replaced Stephen Chow as director on the big screen adaptation of The Green Hornet, it was obviously only a matter of time before Chow dropped out of the film all together, leaving the role of the Green Hornet's sidekick, Kato, up for grabs.

After screen testing many of Asia's hunky young dreamboats, they've finally decided to cast pop star/actor, Jay Chou.

IMDB's trivia page for Chou states:
-Favorite current actor is Jet Li, though his childhood dream was to "become Bruce Lee".
-Favorite Sports include Basketball and using nun-chucks, for leisure purposes only, courtesy of his fondness of Bruce Lee.

So dreams do come true. Even if they're in the form of unnecessary TV to film adaptations made by the odd couple of Michel Gondry and Seth Rogan.

Chou will next be seen in Yuen Woo-ping's TRUE LEGEND.
